Latino & Hispanic Heritage Celebrations 2025

Latinos En Spokane is deeply committed to honoring and preserving Hispanic culture through our annual Cultural Events and Hispanic Heritage Month festivities. These celebrations are pivotal moments of joy and recognition, highlighting the vibrant contributions of Hispanic communities in Spokane.

-

This year, due to rising immigration enforcement and safety concerns, we’re moving these celebrations into El Mercadito a smaller, community-led space where traditions can thrive in a safe, welcoming environment. This shift also lets us direct more resources to programs that provide direct support and long-term impact for the families we serve.

Join us in honoring our heritage, building unity, and keeping our community safe and strong.

Dia de los Muertos | October 27 - November 1 | LES Office

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a deeply meaningful and colorful Mexican tradition that we celebrate for a week at our office. This cultural event serves as a beautiful homage to our loved ones who have passed away, honoring their memory in various ways each day from October 27th to November 2nd.

By celebrating Día de los Muertos in Spokane, we not only preserve and share Mexican culture but also provide a space for healing, remembrance, and community connection.

Posada & Toy Drive |  December 13 | West Central Community Center

Our annual Christmas, Posada event is a cherished tradition that brings our community together to celebrate the cultural heritage of Latin America. Posada, meaning "inn" in Spanish, is a festive ritual celebrated over nine days, starting on December 16th. Together, we share traditional holiday foods, desserts, songs, piñatas, and distribute toys to Latino and immigrant families. Leading up to the Posada, we collect toys for our annual Toy Drive, which culminates during the event.
